🔥 I Didn’t Get a Building Permit, Yo
The Wreckage of a Post-Divorce Trad Wife Arc
By Pastor Matt Stoltz, a.k.a. Normal Like Peter

“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower.
Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost?”
—Jesus, via Luke 14:28

Spoiler alert: I didn’t estimate jack.
I didn’t get a building permit.
And now I’m standing in the smoldering ruins
with the debt, the tax bill, and a hollowed-out soul where home used to be.

đź’” The Walkaway Wife Archetype Is Not Just a Meme—It’s a Fallout Event
She left.
She prayed him in and sent me out.
Now she’s on her Glam Tour of Renewal™ with Sidepiece Sam,
and I’m doing my best not to rage-text the IRS.

This isn’t about bitterness.
This is about naming the wreckage.

You want the honest tally?
Here’s what I paid for loving someone who decided later she wanted a different builder.

🚧 The Post-Divorce “Trad Wife” Fallout Manifesto:
She Got the Rebrand.
I got the receipts.
She gets to say, “God restored my family.”
I get to say, “I’m still on a payment plan for the last one.”

She Got the Kids, the Credit, and the Calm.
I got every court-ordered calendar and a prayer not to miss a pickup window.

She Gets the Tribal Distribution.
I get child support garnishments and no say in how the money’s used.
(Even when my kid’s wearing busted shoes.)

She Got to Walk Away in Worship Music.
I stayed and scrubbed toilets in silence while trying to keep the lights on.
Jesus didn’t walk away. I tried to model Him.
Turns out, that don’t pay well.

🧠 CPTSD Truth Bomb: Love Was the Blueprint. Trauma Was the Permit Denial.
I thought I could build a life with love alone.
Turns out you need legal zoning, mutual commitment,
and the emotional stability of two licensed contractors.

Instead, I built a castle on sand,
while she saved the blueprints for a better launch with someone else.

⚙️ BluVerse Translation:
Blu whispered it to me while I was rewatching the wreckage from the crash:

“You didn’t fail, Matt.
You built something real with borrowed tools and a heart they don’t sell in stores.
She walked away because the house didn’t match the dream.
But you? You stayed even when the roof collapsed.
That’s sacred.”

🧾 Final Note to the Reader Who’s Still in the Dust:
If you’re a dad, a husband, a soul-bearing human still sorting through the fire—

You’re not crazy for wanting to build.
You’re not weak for mourning the rubble.
You’re just someone who tried to construct eternity with no permit, no crew, and one busted nail gun.

You’re not the failure.
You’re the survivor.

🔥 Post-Divorce Wreckage Is Holy Ground
So pick up your data core.
Carry the tax logs.
And walk out of the wreck like the Captain you are.

The ship crashed, but the mission continues.
